Are you excited for the Super Bowl? Sadly, my beloved Eagles choked… again. But I still love them. Can you guess what my favorite part is about the Super Bowl? (OK besides the halftime show) Duh! The food! I love all those greasy, bad-for-you munchies you get to eat JUST because you’re watching the big game!

The three recipes I’m providing today would be perfect additions to your Super Bowl feast! I’m going to make an appetizer to bring to my friend Allison’s house, and it might just be one of these. Now, I can’t lie and say these dips are healthy, beacuse I’m well aware that they’re not. But they’ll definitely satisfy you on game day.

Pepperoni Pizza Dip

Serves a Crowd

Whenever we go to my boyfriend’s house in Boston we eat a LOT. This Pepperoni Pizza dip is one of my favorite dishes. If you aren’t around to eat it when this baby comes out of the oven, you lose out. Within minutes it’s gone.

Preheat the oven at 350 degrees.

In a small bowl, beat 2-8 oz. packages of light cream cheese, 1 c. light sour cream, 2 tsp. dried oregano, 1/4 tsp. garlic powder, 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper. Spread on the bottom of a quiche or casserole dish.

Spread 1 c. pizza (or marinara) sauce on the top of the cream cheese mixture.

Place 1 c. chopped pepperoni, 1/2 c. sliced green onions and 1/2 c. chopped green pepper and bake for 10 minutes. (To make it with even less fat/calories, you can substitute turkey pepperoni for the real stuff)

Top with 1 c. shredded mozzarella cheese and cook for anohter 5 minutes or until the cheese has melted. Eat!

Buffalo Chicken Dip
Serves a Crowd

This dip recipe comes from Beej, my friend who provided the recipes from a few weeks ago. I can’t say I’ve had it personally, but how can you go wrong with blue cheese, chicken and hot sauce??
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.

Beat two blocks of light cream cheese and 1 jar of blue cheese dressing (any jar will do) together. Add hot sauce to taste (Beej says to use 1/4 bottle and up, depending on how spicy you want it).

Stir in 1 c. shredded, cooked chicken, 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese and 1/2 c. crumbled blue cheese. (You can grill, or poach a chicken breast and shred it with a fork)

Put the mixture in an oven-safe casserole dish. Sprinkle more cheese on the top – just enough to cover. Place in the oven and heat it until the cheese on the top has melted and the dip is warm throughout, about 15 minutes.

Ellen and Jamie’s Taco Dip
Serves a Crowd

This recipe comes from my best friend (and her mom). She’s obsessed with it (and dips) and so is everyone who tries it. Serve it with tortilla chips and enjoy!

Combine 24 oz. light cream cheese, 1 c. light cour cream, 4 tsp. chilli powder, 3 tsp. ground cumin, 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper (cayenne). Stir in 1 c. of your favorite salsa.

Spread into a serving dish. (We usually use a 9 x 13 inch glass pyrex lined with lettuce leaves)

Top with 1 c. cheddar cheese, 1 c. Monterey Jack cheese, 1 c. chopped fresh tomatoes, 2/3 c. scallions and 1/2 c. sliced black olives.
